This new phenomenon and constant flux of superhero movies courtesy of Marvel and DC, the in your face depiction of men and women being ripped, buff and utterly fantastic has become the new norm for Hollywood. After each new release, we get bombarded on the internet with interview questions with the actors and actresses on how they achieved such desirable physiques. Random people make their own training routine and claim that it was used by the actors/actresses and we follow blindly because hey, if an average Joe who doesn't train like a superhero all their life can achieve such a body in about a year time frame to film a movie, why can we...right?
If you succeeded in this feat. Good for you, and the rest of us honestly..are "hatin". I've come to the conclusion that the majority of us don't have the funds and/or the lifestyle of these actresses and actors to keep up with the strict regimen to put on massive amounts of weight to bulk and cut (strategically) and have a personal trainer train us every day. However achieving the physique seems feasible, perhaps only the time frame isn't.

The latest buzz now is Jamie Dornan's portrayal of billionaire and closet sadist: Christian Grey and his physique. It's not news that Jamie Dornan is a sex symbol for women (and men?) getting awarded the sexiest man alive in 2015 and again in 2017 by Glamour Magazine. I happened to catch the latest installment of the Fifty Shades series that is currently playing in theaters. Christian Grey's body wasn't all that impressive, his overall physique, other than having a strong core and thicker than average mid-trap muscles, Jamie Dornan's physique is just realistically achievable within a few months for guys who hold a relatively low body fat percentage (9-15%). I do acknowledge that the character Christian Grey is known for making lots of money and having an insatiable sex drive like that of a teenager, not so much a body like that of a Greek god. In that sense, Jamie Dornan nailed it. His physique is definitely well above average and deserves an applause, though we all can't all have his incredibly good-looking facial symmetry and features, we can all at least have a similar physique with some effort.
Comparing the regimen and eating habits of Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Chris Evans (Captain America), Henry Cavill (Superman) and now Jamie Dornan (Christian Grey), all have said on interviews that preparing for their roles involved training several hours a day, eating, eating and more eating. Jamie's wardrobe designer mentioned that with every fitting, his arms kept growing out of his tailored clothing due to his intake of 4-5 protein shakes a day. So why the disparity between the physiques between super soldier and billionaire? The answer is 70% genetics and diet, 20% type of training, and 10% the obvious, we must take in consideration some may have dabbled in some super soldier serum for their "enhancements".
