Making money is easy. You have plenty of options on how to make some cash if you are creative. People have this notion that you can only make money from going to school, learning and refining your skill(s), and then working for somebody else using that skill. This is untrue...obviously.
However, that may be one of the easiest and fastest paths to make a buck for the majority of people. Creating wealth is never fast, especially if you start from the bottom. Making money, on the other hand, is easy. Please differentiate between the two, wealth versus having money are 2 different animals.
Today we are discussing the fastest way of making money if you are starting from the bottom.
1. Work for somebody else - Working for a paycheck is not the most romantic way of making money, but it is the smartest and fastest if you have none.
I hear I have a family member that has great potential but squanders it away. He went to law school, graduated on time with honors, and like most Millennials, struggled to find work post-school life. 4+ years have passed and he still lives at home with his parents and hasn't worked a day since then.
The reason, pride. He refused to take on any job that didn't pay what he felt he deserved for his commitment and salary his school promised for his field. He also refused to work anything that didn't display him as "big time lawyer" or any job unrelated to his major. Any advice or opinions from his parents of friends were not enough to persuade him otherwise.
Talk about a god complex, right?
Now if your into making money and straight out of school, having confidence in yourself and your skills is important, but sometimes you just need to "know your role and shut your mouth".
Had he understood that he could work $10 bucks an hour at a firm doing menial work or Starbucks, he would have the time to build up his networks or gained new skills that can ultimately elevate his position to where he wanted to be. Why? Because money opens new opportunities.
2. Work online - working for somebody else online is one of the easiest ways to get quick cash. There are occasions it is even faster than waiting for a paycheck that comes bi-weekly from a job. Note that you probably can't make a living in the beginning, but you can scrounge up a couple hundred dollars fairly easily in a week. Be a freelance worker on Fiverr.com. Offer services like tying up articles, formatting documents, fixing spelling or punctuations, creating art or designs. You can charge whatever you want for the completed project, starting at $5. How many papers can you correct spelling errors on in a day, simply proofread 10 papers and that's $50 bucks minimum you just stuffed into your bank account. You can work as a virtual assistant. Most times you can take on a job from a big company or other entrepreneurs looking for cheap labor. You think you're too good for that? Guess what, what you can learn working as a virtual assistant for $3 per hour has more value than most jobs you can earn $20 bucks an hour from. You get hands-on training and understand the mechanics of how a successful person built their business on. Here's an idea, simply converting those ideas or skills and doing it under your own terms means you just flipped the tables and became somebody that knows how to run a successful business. Sounds pretty good considered they paid you $3 bucks an hour to teach you how to successfully run your future business.
3. Surveys and reviews - So we all heard doing surveys and reviews can make you some extra money on the side. Well, this is not complete dog crap. I personally don't think this is a particularly fast way of making money online. Some surveys take about 45 minutes to complete and will only give you $5 dollars for your time. I don't see much skills you can learn from answering these surveys either, but they do give you some insight to what the big companies are trying to find out in their market research, which could potentially help you with your own business (somehow). There are other survey sites that are worth the effort. I personally only do surveys that pay significant amounts of money that exceed my jobs hourly pay. Take the screenshot I put of a survey on the start of this article. I was invited to participate in a survey that pays well over my hourly pay. Over $200 dollars for less than one hour of work, this for me is worth the time and effort I am willing to sacrifice. I get a few of these surveys sent to my email when they are available. Most surveys that I accept to complete are estimated to take 10 minutes and pay $10-$50 each. These come sporadically and are not dependable if you are trying to make a living on it.
Review websites were introduced to me by a friend. So companies hire people and agencies to have random people browse and review their websites before launching it to the rest of the public. The job is simple, browse and talk about their site while doing a screen capture whilst commenting on a microphone, click around to see all the links work and if the website is visually pleasing, etc. You can make average $10 dollars an hour.
Making money can be fast and very easy. Keep an open mind and you will see many opportunities to make some extra cash. Creating wealth is more complicated and in most truths takes cash. So make money now and complain about not having wealth later.
