How Much $$$ You Can Make From YouTube Realistically With Very Little Effort.

I decided to start a YouTube channel last year to motivate myself in my fitness goals as a hobby. The channel was for tracking and keeping me accountable for all the shit I say I will do but almost never actually get started on... get a six pack within 3 months. Stop eating trash, share my knowledge and years of experience to the younger generation, etc. You know the gist of how new year resolutions go. Last year, I decided to make it official and make it a point to follow through with my words. Show and tell the world my goals or be shamed by all the trolling and ridiculed for my failures. So I created my channel "TwelveWeeksOut", which has meaning in bodybuilding because it is usually the amount of time we set all fitness goals/transformation/etc. Of course, this username is a nightmare for search engine optimization because its such a broad and over-used term. So even if I did have people looking for me, I may never be found in the search. However, I didn't know any better at the time and even now, I don't really give a crap because I like my alias.
So I released my first video, and of course the only 3 views that I received where probably from myself. Same for the next couple of videos. The view count probably was the biggest de-motivator in continuing making content, but I found the process of creating videos fun and exciting, I was a celebrity in my own little world. So I continued creating new content and tried new things until I found topics that appealed to people and I stuck with that.
When I realized it was time to monetize my content (make money off of the videos via google ads), it was around the time I had 10 videos out(probably 3 months since starting). In the world of YouTube, it is a very small number even for the most modest content creator. So I stumbled through the google ad-sense and YouTube ad payment applications. However, it was literally last month that I reviewed my application and found I did it incorrectly. So it has been 1 year 8 months that I missed out on google ad-sense payments because of my carelessness and procrastination to check on the Ad-sense program. *Face palm*
In any case, I noticed the more viewers/ subscribers I received the more pressure I felt to only release good content(within my standards). This fear I felt from my slight success in gaining subscribers actually drove me to almost abandoning the whole thing. I get writers block, and when I could come up with ideas for videos, I felt genuine horror to turn on the camera. Fear of failure, fear of success. It's the darnedest thing.
But I digress, this blog isn't about my flaky resolve to be a YouTube sensation. What I wanted to share with everybody today is how much I made on my first month of a fully functional google ad-sense account to get an idea of how much money you can make being a very inactive Youtuber.
So with 298 subscribers, 9,670 page visits within the last 28 days, 20 monetized videos. I made....$6.04
So just enough to buy a nice lunch from the halal cart. ohhh yes..Gotta have that heart clogging white sauce

But I didn't even consider that I haven't paid Tax on it yet.
In all perspective, this is still a pretty good amount for only 36 videos. Many YouTube content creators have hundreds if not thousands of YouTube videos at their arsenal. Some release 1-5 videos a day. Every. Single. Day. (Considered my mind blown) So they must be making a substantially higher amount of revenue than I do.
